Does anyone know if the CGMS / Pump companies are working on a combo CGMS/Infusion set? Wouldn't it be great if we could get the benefits of both an insulin pump and a CGMS system with only one injection every 3 days!

Just checking...

Since I use my sensors as long as possible I would definitely NOT want to see a sensor/set combo. Also, since they warn you to keep your sensor away from your infusion site I doubt it will ever happen. The infused insulin could mess up the sensor readings.

There have been rumors of this for several years. Even if they figure out how to make the sensor work that close to the infusion set, there's still the 3-day issue.

Good points, but I can still keep hoping...

Although the CGMS is a great idea, I don't like the thought of becoming a human pin cushin.

My Pump: MM Revel with CGMS

One of the MM reps told me they are working on this. If it is priced right, I might not care about using the sensor only 3 days. It would obviously be a different type of sensor, probably something tiny attached to the infusion cannula. It would be a completely different sensor.

Actually, just last night, we had our local pumper's support group meeting and one of the CDE/pump educators stated that Medtronic had figured out how to make this work and that it will be out eventually. Still, I'll believe it when I see it.
