My last two MIO infusion sets came out of their own accord. The first one came out in the middle of the night; I didn't notice it had come out until morning. The second one I think I may have felt come out as I was twisting my body while clearing snow from my car; however, I didn't see that it had come out until about an hour later.
Any suggestions on how to prevent this from occurring? In looking at the way that the MIO set is designed, I can't really see a good way to tape it down. Also, recently I went back to using Skin Prep instead of Skin Tac for the infusion sets. Could this be the problem? -------------------- Aaron

I've never used a Mio but from what I saw on a You Tube video the infusion set looks a lot like the Sil. Sometimes I use paper tape on the Sil and it holds the set very well. -------------------- Arlene S.

I had this happen a couple of times, they just fell off, have never had this happen and been using Mio's for a year and a half.
It seems like the tape was not very sticky, called Medtronic to report and they sent replacements. They were all out of the same batch. Have not had it happen since. |

QUOTE Also, recently I went back to using Skin Prep instead of Skin Tac for the infusion sets. Could this be the problem? Well, that could make a difference, because Skin Prep is just to reduce irritation but Skin Tac is to strengthen the adhesive. (And Mastisol is even stronger than Skin Tac.) |
