I went to a movie earlier this afternoon, and on the way home stopped off a a neighborhood pub where I've known the bartender since she was a little girl. I had almost forgotten that today was Fat Tuesday, so naturally, they had a huge spread laid out - shrimp etoufee, jambalaya, red beans and rice and cornbread. Oh yeah, and fried pickles (yuk!)

They brought me a huge plate of food. I bolused for 70 g, but only ate maybe 1/3 of what was on my plate (the rest is in the 'fridge now). Anybody else do Cajun food today? I can hardly wait to test my BG in a couple of hours. I've got a temp basal set for 150% - all that rice and stuff combined with this nasty little bug I seem to have picked up are doing a number on me.

BTW - I was kind of disappointed in the movie - Lincoln. First time I've been to a movie theater in a couple of years. It would have been more appropriately titled 'The Fight for the 13th Amendment'. Tommy Lee Jones was great though, as was Sally Field.

Your description of the food that was offered to you sounds delicious. It has been a long time since I had Cajun food. A friend of ours used to make his special "red beans and rice" with hot sauce. Your eyes would even water eating it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Tom,.
What was your BG if you only ate 1/3 of your meal and bloused 70g?. Neighborhood pub did a disservice by having no crawfish etoufee and sausage boudan, oh the shame.

The movie "Lincoln" in my opinion was a disappointment to me also.

Eat Hearty but safe,
Bob

One third of the meal was probably 60 g. I still wound up pretty high...probably close to 300. I have somehow got to get some sensors. I'll be having the leftovers tomorrow for supper. Can't hardly wait!
