I use Novolog, simply because that's what my insurance paid for. I don't think there's a lot of difference between Novolog and Humalog, but Apidra may be a little different. I've read that it perhaps works a little faster, and doesn't last quite as long. Stricly anectodal.

I use Apridra. I used to use Humalog. They are the same price with my insurance. The Apidra, for me anyway, takes a effect a little faster and has a shorter tail. But everyone is different remember. I never had any issues with Humalog either. I just like the Apidra slightly better. As always, YMMV. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Novolog from the first day a couple years ago. Although I still have a bottle of Humalog in the fridge that my Endo gave me to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Which rapid acting insulin does everyone use in their pump? Novolog. I used Humalog for a long time and and a few years ago I tried Apidra (which didn't work well for me). Humalog was okay but Novolog works better for me. -------------------- Arlene S.

Novolog. But my next RX will be Humalog because of changes in insurance copays. Humalog was my first injected insulin, then switched to Novolog because Humolog was no longer available in a 1/2 unit pen (it is now, again).

I use Apdira. In the past I've used both Humalog and Novo Rapid (Novolog in the US). I haven't really found that much difference between the 3 (but other people do see various differences).

I use Humalog because that's what I was using before I got my pump. I've had no issues with it.

I use Novolog because Velosulin wasn't going to be available any more and I just happen to like that particular mfg.

I used Velosulin until 1996 when Humalog became available. I didn't realize Novolog was already available. I don't think it was. I know for sure that Humalog came first and Novolog wasn't available until several years later. From random surveys like this that I've seen on various forums, it does seem like more pumpers use Novolog. When I first started pumping my CDE tried a couple of times to get me to switch but I never had a reason to. Not too long ago when I went through a bout of really high insulin use I thought about switching. Things eventually settled down so I know it's not the insulin. -------------------- --

It had been marketed in Europe under the name of NovoRapid but it was approved by the FDA in 2000. I guess I switched to Humalog (even though it was not approved for the pump) before Velosulin was taken off the market. -------------------- Arlene S.

I think it was late 2000 when Novolog was released to the market I started using it in December of 2000, Humalog was causing fatty tissue lumps
at injection sights called Lipohypertrophy. My doctor switched me to novolog it didn’t help much but after I started pumping the lumps and pain have disappeared. This post has been edited by JohnG: Jul 11 2011, 03:40 AM -------------------- John

I did MDI with Novolog and then switched to pumping with Novolog. Never used any of the others.

Humalog, because that is what I have used since it was first released here and I was on MDI. I tried Novo Rapid (Novolog) when I first when on my pump because they thought I may have been allergic to the Humalog, but I wasn't and I preferred Humalog so I went back to it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
