I started using CGM with my Paradigm 722 about a month ago.
To date I have not had a sensor last more than 5 days before I get calibration and finaly bad sensor errors, Wondering if anyone out there has any T&T on making the sensor last longer. Thanks! |

There are lots of tips and techniques mentioned in the Paradigm / Veo RT system topic. Be sure to read the sticky note at the top. One of the biggest thing is to be sure to tape it down so it cannot move underneath your skin. Perhaps some of the tips will help, but many of us find that our sensors last between 5 - 7 days. Most sensors last at least 7 days. Some people have them last 20 days or more. I only use the MM sensors and they have to be taped down with a good tape, not the IV3000 they send you (in my opinion). That tape just washes off when I take a shower. I use the Opsite Flexifix. Also you have to find a good spot on your body. I use my thighs, slightly to the inside. I have tried other places but I like to use the sensors about 12-14 days so I need to untape them carefully, recharge the transmitter, and then retape it. Your pump needs to be on the same side of your body as the sensor so the signal doesn't get lost. If it doesn't find the signal, or if the calibration is off, you can just hit "start new sensor" on the pump.
There are many tips in other areas here. |

I tried the extension of the 72 hour limit on the sensor starting last week. Worked great! I went to six days. Pulled the transmitter and charged it. re-installed the transmitter and went two more days. I decided to pull the old sensor after 8 days. I know I could have kept this one going for another week at least. No irritation at the site. No sensitivity. Site looked very good.
I just extended my new sensor to begin it's 4th day. I DO have a question though. I have the new Revel 723. When the pump tells me SENSOR END and I want to extend it, I do SENSOR>LINK TO SENSOR and I I do NEW SENSOR, the transmitter won't pick-up. If I do LOST SENSOR, it won't pick-up. But if I do RECONNECT OLD SENSOR, it picks up right away and I get a METER BG within a few seconds. I get the new age for sensor AND a good ISIG. Could this be new software in the Revel 723? Just curious. Thanks again for this forum and all the great help we get here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Wave.gif) -------------------- Gary Armitstead

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/Wave.gif) I just do a 'link to sensor - new sensor' and it works fine. It is definitely all software - maybe they changed it in the newest version of the software? As long as you get the correct age of the sensor and it's working, I guess your solution seems fine. Linda B. -------------------- Linda

I have the new Revel 723. When the pump tells me SENSOR END and I want to extend it, I do SENSOR>LINK TO SENSOR and I I do NEW SENSOR, the transmitter won't pick-up. How long do you wait after choosing New Sensor? It can take up to 5 minutes for the transmitter & pump to communicate. -------------------- --

I just do the link to sensor and then new sensor and it works (for day 3). On day 6 you can do this also but you only get one more day. At day 7 you have to recharge the transmitter and reconnect it. I have two transmitters (one is over 2 years old but still works). This makes it easier because I always have a transmitter on the charger and can just change it. I don't always get another 7 days. The one I have now is on day 9 with a good ISIG of 15 plus, but crazy numbers. I am hoping it levels off or I will change it out.
