I have MM CGMS but I would think this would be helpful for any diabetic and any CGMS system. A couple of us are looking for a carb counter for the Android operating systems on smartphones. I didn't see anything helpful shen looking earlier but willlook in earnest this pm.
It's possible that maybe there is one for calories that would include a carb count.
Anyone know of anything out there for the Android/ Droid systems?
Appreciate any advices!!
Thanks much, Peter

I use the LiveStrong DailyPlate app on my iPhone and there is now an Android app. This app has an extensive database of foods - updated by users (be sure to check the serving size) Anyway - when you bring up the food it shows all nutritional data including carbs - and - it is a great tool to help you lose weight too!!

Thanks Mike! I'm going to check it out. It's $2.99 to get the app so I'm going to research it first before I spend the big bucks!

I did find a free Calorie Counter (name of the app) in the Droid app marketplace. It's run by FatSecret.com so you can check it out on the web first; since it's free, you can check it on the phone. I played with this last night for about 1/2 hour and it seems pretty decent. My first reaction was that the text was small but I probably would need my glasses anyway. You can amend serving sizes if you need that feature. I have not tried too many of the features but it appears you can keep a running tally of your food intake throughout the day and designate what you ate and when.

When I checked out their website, it does allow you to sync between your phone and computer. It also allows you to set a diet goal and will give you the recomended daily calorie intake to reach your goals. Just about everyone I know is trying to lose weight so this may be helpful. I've got the opposite problem (sorry!) where I would love to put on 10-15 #'s but I've been trying to put weight on for years and have given up. So, even though it advises me of my daily calorie intake to add weight, I'm not going to use this feature.

All the carb info is there for those of us that want carb info. While I think I'm half decent in counting carbs, I think I tend to underestimate them; nothing worse than a super hypo incident due to overbolusing. Just as bad though is a hyper incident from understimating and seeing your sugars go through the roof!

By the way, I'm in a happy mood this am because my A1C just came in at 6.9, my lowest ever!! If I can get it down below 6.5, I'll be happier.

I'll post some more on the Calorie Counter when I have more info that I think might be helpful. And I welcome all input by the Forum. I truly treasure all that I've learned from IPF!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry to bump an old thread, but I found this on Google and thought I'd throw my hat into the ring.

My mom has type 1 diabetes, so I programmed an Android app for her to track carbs as well as calories, fat, weight, etc. It's dead simple (my mom is a little technology phobic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

It's a free app with ads, if anyone finds this post and wants to try it out. Called "Bare Bones Diet Tracker". link: https://market.android.com/details?id=peaco...tware.barebones

Thanks, and sorry for the shameless self-promotion (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Honestly not trying to add spam!

Richard
