Here is a link to the Boulder Daily Camera's story about this. This guy is definitely a whacko. I hope he goes away for a long time.
As you may imagine, this story got a lot of attention in the Denver/Boulder area. One of the odd things about this story is that the perp's name is Frederick Allen. That was the name of the famed diabetologist in the early 20th century who kept diabetics alive by starving them. Tom -------------------- Tom

This Frederick Allen what a despicable guy. It appears that he has no respect for his own species...if he's guilty someone should feed him

I hadn't heard about it. So thanks for sharing.
Takes me back to the Claus VonBulow (sp?) days. To think it's "fashionable" to use insulin to keep yourself thin if you aren't diabetic and to not use it if you are. I ran into the latter type when I still worked in a laboratory. I told her to look at me and did she think I was fat? When I told her how long I had been diabetic, she accused me of lying to her. Since we shared the same enocrinologist at the time, I escorted her back up to his office and sat with him while she reviewed my last height, weight and hgb A1c results. Teenagers. Well, that's definitely one period of my life I don't want to repeat. -------------------- Susan Dx date-12/01/1967 MiniMed 522 May 2007 MiniMed/Revel 523 January 2012 CGMS since April 2008 |
