My Pump: Animas Ping

I am new to the world of insulin pupms. My 8 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 last July. We are now eligible to go the pump route. Looking at the different units, I have a couple of terms I need to try to figue out the meanings before I go to the manufacturers. These terms would be:

Total Basals (example 12/day)
Basal Profiles
Basal Interval

If anyone could give a clearer explaination of what these terms mean, I would be greatly appreciative.
