My Pump: mm 522

My laptop crapped out yesterday, so I went and got a used one from some guys that I trust. One of the first things I tried to do was upload my pump via Carelink.

Didn't work with IE...got annoying messages to download Java, yadayada...so I called the ever-handy help desk. While I was on hold for 20 minutes, I downloaded Firefox, and just about the time I started talking to a guy, I got Firefox going, and was able to upload.

The MM guy told me that Carelink just isn't working with IE anymore...they have suggested everyone use Firefox (or some browser other than IE) to upload.

Worked for me. I hate Java .... I used to work for Sun, and it seems like Java just always screws up.

Tom

Tom,

I am STILL using Win XPPro and I refuse to give it up! Also was using IE8 to get into CareLink. Got tired of all the Java messages and started using Google Chrome. I DO get a message from CareLink that it won't work with Chrome at this time, but I continue anyway. It DOES work with Chrome and very nicely at that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Dance.gif)

I just up loaded my pump yesterday on a new Dell precision work station, Win7, IE 11, using the new Bayer Contour-next....No problems. This was a work PC that had never been infected with Java before my upload...I suspect that your used Laptop has some old bits and pieces of Java fouling up the works...us a registry cleaner to clear off the old versions of Java and you will probably be able to use IE...but if FireFox is working no reason to go back, FireFox is the go to browser on my mac's. This week MS announced that many versions of IE have another serious security problem (hackers can easily preform remote operations using your IE) MS is working on yet another patch.
