So today I woke up with body aches, headache, runny nose, cough, sore throat. I thought I had a cold but later today I had a stomachache and a fever which prompted me to go to Instacare and see a doctor. The doctor pretty much told me that it sounds like flu symptoms and since right now they're seeing the H1N1 flu I had 2 choices. I could get tested and find out in a day or two if I have that kind of a flu. Or I could just stay home for a week since the period you're contagious is 24 hours before symptoms and 6 days after. I was hoping that I don't have it and I could return to school/work and not have to miss a whole week. So I did get tested and will find out on Monday if I have it or not.
But I was wondering how many of you have been diagnosed with it and how did it run its course. I already seem to be feeling a little bit better since my fever is down with some tylenol but I'm still having the body aches and headache, loss of appetite, sore throat, and cough which are pretty bothersome.I did get a seasonal flu vaccine but our health department doesn't have the shot yet for H1N1, just the mist. And the mist is not recommended for people with chronic conditions.
