I read on one of the topics that hot tub use and sensors do not mix. I thought that the sensor was good for 105 degrees. The hot tub is one of my favorite ways to relax do I have to give that up? Anyone with experience in this area ? Jeff

Hi Jeff, I read the same thing. I guess the only way to know for sure is to give it a try. Like everything else with diabetes, it might be a YMMV thing. Or maybe it is not recommended but it turns out that it doesn't hurt your sensor after all. Linda B.

Diabetics may have impaired sensation or poor circulation. Imagine the danger if you can't feel temperature properly. Hot water also is taxing on the heart. I hate hot tubs! They give me a headache.

It probably depends on the CGMS system. I'm using a Dexcom, and I can hot tub. It does shorten the life of the adhesive.
I really thought it affected sensor life, but one of the tech said she didn't think so. I have hot tubbed with my current system and I am just about finished with day 8.
